Tourists and historians alike are attracted to this area where the most famous Native American battle took place, the Little Bighorn Battle. The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument preserves the site of the June 1876 Battle of the Little Bighorn and also serves as a memorial to those who fought in the battle: Lakota, Nothern Cheyenne and Arapaho force and Gorge Armstrong Custer. Vistors come from all over the world each year to visit the historical sites.

The Apsaalooke people are rich in culture, heritage, and traditions. Located on the Crow Reservation in southeast Montana, the reservation is on 2.2 million acres and is bordered by the Wyoming border on the south and the Northern Cheyenne Reservation on the east. The tribe is federally recognized and has more than 14,000+ tribal members. Languages spoken are Crow and English. Several traditional events take place throughout the summer months. Native Days is held annually during the third week of June, which hosts INFR Tour Rodeo and the Ultimate Warrior competition between men and women of all Nations. The Crow Fair which is better known as the Tipi Capital of the World is an annual celebration held during the third week of August.
